Our Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances are fully equipped and staffed by two highly trained Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). Explorer – 1 provides ambulance service seven days a week, 24 hours per day, throughout Los Angeles County. All ambulances are licensed and inspected by the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles County EMS Agency. In addition to ensuring that the vehicle and equipment meet set standards, the county EMS agencies also license all our EMT field personnel. Our vehicles are routinely maintained to provide the best in dependability, durability, and patient safety.

When you need the safety and security of an ambulance transport but do not meet the medical necessity standards that your insurance provider mandates, what are your alternatives if your insurance will not authorize or pay for an ambulance? Do not worry; Explorer – 1 has affordable “Direct-Pay” options. Through “Direct-Pay” you can call and request Transport Service.
When you utilize the “direct-Pay” option with Explorer – 1, your insurance provider, Medi-Cal, or Medicare will not be billed for the service. Paying for this service will be your responsibility, and you will receive the same level of care and quality service.
