Explorer – 1 was established in 2009 by a firefighter-paramedic who is deeply committed to providing quality, efficient, and professional patient care along with medical transportation services.

With a vision focused on community service, Explorer – 1 was founded as a highly responsive company capable of swiftly adapting to the rapidly changing medical industry while upholding its core values centered on delivering superior quality care and professional services.

At Explorer, our top priority is ensuring that patients, healthcare partners, event promoters, and the communities we serve receive the high-quality care they deserve and expect from our broad range of professional services.

The founder of Explorer – 1 firmly believes that a significant aspect of the company’s mission should be to act as a strong pillar within the communities it serves. Growing up in Compton, he created an organization to provide professional ambulance and medical services, generate job opportunities, and engage in outreach, mentoring, and training initiatives to uplift communities often regarded as “underserved.”

The founder envisioned Explorer – 1 as the preferred choice for communities, offering access to appropriate care, medical facilities, and services that enhance outcomes and improve quality of life through prompt, efficient, and professional support.

Explorer – 1 has launched a training and mentoring program designed to create meaningful employment and achieve its goals. This program is grounded in mentorship, training, outreach, and ongoing education to attract top talent and team members. Interns benefit from paid employment alongside mentorship and continuous training, which establishes a solid foundation for advanced career opportunities in fields such as fire, police, military, and medical services.

Team members are expected to deliver compassionate, respectful, and dignified service to their patients and healthcare partners while embodying Explorer – 1’s core values of “Honor, Dignity, Pride.”

The mission statement of Explorer – 1 serves two primary purposes: first, to facilitate emergency and non-emergency medical transportation for patients and healthcare partners, ensuring access to quality healthcare while providing enhanced medical standby support services for event promoters, educational institutions, and venues served by Explorer – 1. Secondly, Explorer – 1 strives to be a valuable community partner by creating gainful employment and outreach through a platform designed to mentor, train, educate, and inspire our communities, granting access to programs and resources that are often lacking in these areas. The programs have specific objectives, educational benchmarks, and goals aimed at mentoring and training team members to prepare, develop, and motivate them for future opportunities in the fire, police, military, and medical sectors.

Over the past decade, Explorer – 1 has trained numerous young men and women from diverse backgrounds who have gone on to become professional EMTs and firefighters in various jurisdictions across Los Angeles County.
